Original destination was southern North Carolina. Beautiful mid-60’s, slight breeze. Perfect for a weekend of wandering!
Alas, it was not meant to be. Instead, we drove north under grey skies and rain drops. My Travel Companion and I found ourselves north of Dayton, in Vandalia, OH.
After showering (Ahh, glorious water pressure!), we ventured outside to see the clouds parting. Just the tiniest bit of color as the sun was setting. Enough to brighten my day!
Time to see what this town has to offer! We found our way to the local brewery. It was a hopping little spot. Turns out their pizza was half price. Sounds good to us!
Their beers were all rather enjoyable and the pizza was good. We decided to call it an early night and headed back to our tiny home on wheels. 💤 💤
The next day we awoke to sunshine. We definitely had to find out what else this town had for entertainment. Bars. After multiple searches on different platforms that was all we found in town. Bars.
Happy Sunday Funday?!
Taking advantage of the sun shining, we headed out on foot. After strolling through town for a bit, we stopped in at Oscar’s. Nice spot for some grub and refreshments.
They also had a pool table and a few dart boards. For a visually impaired lady, I can play a pretty good game of darts! Two out of three games, i had the lead. I’m really lucky at hitting bull’s eye8, but can’t aim at a specific number to save my soul. 🤣
The wind had picked up, but the sun was still shining, so we decided to check out the last place, Max’s. It was quiet but it was a Sunday afternoon. We hung out for a while and then it was time to venture on.
All in all, our time in Vandalia was good. The people we visited with were friendly and nice. Perhaps, next time, we’ll stumble upon a park or trail!
